the sun is sparkling, the rain rumbling, and we badly need some poetry...

Christopher Fried - 1 Poem

Under the Watchful Eye

A firefly burns below the stars.
Its wings embrace the glossy sky
And slice the air it leads. The small
Light formed in nature is released
And amplifies the sky’s moonshine.
On this star-sprinkled night, this fly
That mocks the moon in its own way
And rivals the distant burning sun,
Stalks the calm, ensconcing air,
To make its passage through muted sounds.
