the sun is sparkling, the rain rumbling, and we badly need some poetry...

Andrew J. Stone - One Poem

Still Life with Purse

Her body droops from the weight
of her Prada like an overfed cat
perched on an undernourished branch.

She smiles through lopsided lips and
refuses my hand.  She staggers out
the mall and into the mustard Mustang.

The quick unzip sounds stressed
and the cave-mouthed Prada
paints the picture of a figurine
clothed in cash and plastic memories.

Sweta Maloo - One Poem

Fair Lady

She’s a fair Lady
Yet Dark-spirited
Someone I came across once
Who made me churn inside

She’s all smiles and stares
Wicked yet Kind
Someone I came across
Whose Mettle I can’t define

She’s Long-haired
Yet Short in heels
Someone I came across
Who’s got me ensnared by her voice

Strong and Powerful
Yet delicate She is
Someone I try to read
Who’s one and next at similar times

She’s modest and sly
Manipulative yet benign
Someone I try to read
Who has the power to make me die

She’s evil and dry
Yet at Heart a child
Someone I try to read
Who She and I make one of a Kind
